Job Summary
A Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for installing, testing, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with applicable safety codes, regulations, and manufacturer specifications. The technician plays a critical role in protecting lives and property by ensuring fire detection and alarm systems operate reliably.
Responsibilities

Install, program, test, and commission fire alarm systems.
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and system testing.
Diagnose and repair faults in fire alarm control panels, detectors, notification devices, and related equipment.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
Ensure all work complies with local fire codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Maintain accurate service reports, inspection records, and maintenance documentation.
Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and clients during installation and maintenance activities.
Respond to emergency service calls and resolve system issues promptly.
Verify proper system operation after installation or repairs.
Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures while working on-site.
